• When is the Used Book Cellar open for browsing?
  The ubc is open during regular store hours, from 9 am to 9pm Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 6 pm on Sundays.
  
  
• When can I sell you my used books?
  We buy used books on the first and third Friday and Saturday of each month, from 1 to 4 pm. If you would like to bring in more than a couple of boxes of books, please call beforehand and ask to speak to Rebecca, or send an email to ubc@wellesleybooksmith.com. We also buy books at our Brookline Store. At the Brookline location, we buy books Wednesday - Saturday, between 10am... and 4pm.
  
  
• What kind of books do you buy?
  We're not picky... we're selective! Our inventory is large and our storage space is small, so we can't buy everything that's brought to us. We buy adult and kids' fiction and non-fiction. Generally, if a paperback edition of a book exists, we are unlikely to buy the hardcover. However, we are actively seeking hardcovers published with the last six months. We will buy children's picture books and cookbooks in hardcover. We're not able to buy textbooks, romance novels, home repair and decorating guides, travel guides, children's board books, computer guides, or "coffee table" art and photography books.
  
  Please be sure to pack books in small boxes or bags for safe transportation down the stairs!
  
  
• A word on condition... Books much be in good condition - free of underlining, highlighting and water damage. All pages should be securely bound into the book, and the spine should be unbroken.
  
  
  
• What kind of payment will I receive for my books?
  Our rates for used book purchases are 15% of original price in cash (check if over $50) OR 20% in store credit!

Please note: The Used Book Cellar will not be open for browsing during author events. We will be happy to look for a title after the event and place it on hold for you.
