Saddle up for an afternoon with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jane Smiley. She’ll be talking about her latest book for young readers, Pie in the Sky. A charming mix of innocence and wisdom, Pie in the Sky is Smiley's latest middle-grade horse novel, set against the beautiful backdrop of 1960s Northern California. Jane will be talking books, horses, and taking questions from fans. A book-signing will follow her presentation. Attendees will also be entered into a drawing for gift certificates from our co-sponsor, Dover Saddlery.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jane Smiley is the author of many books for adults, including Private Life, Horse Heaven, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Thousand Acres. She was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2001. She lives in Northern California, where she rides horses every chance she gets. She is also the author of four novels for young readers in the Horses of Oak Valley Ranch series: The Georges and the Jewels, A Good Horse, True Blue, and Pie in the Sky.
