Children's Book Week Baseball Double Header: Matt Tavares & David Kelly
Batters up! Matt Tavares and David Kelly will be celebrating baseball season and Children's Book Week with this unique double header author event. Matt will draw you in with his lush illustrations and stories of baseball legends (Becoming Babe Ruth, There Goes Ted Williams), while David will make you put on your detective cap and uncover some amazing sport's secrets (Miracle Mud, The Ballpark Mysteries series). Great for young sports fans of all ages! We'll have lemonade, popcorn, and crackerjacks as well as great giveaways. Come in your team uniform or wearing your favorite team's memorabilia and be entered into a drawing for a baseball signed by both authors.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Matt Tavares is the author-illustrator of Becoming Babe Ruth, Zachary’s Ball, Oliver’s Game, Mudball, Henry Aaron’s Dream, and There Goes Ted Williams: The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived. He is also the illustrator of The Gingerbread Pirates by Kristin Kladstrup and Lady Liberty: A Biography by Doreen Rappaport, among other picture books. Matt Tavares lives in Ogunquit, Maine.
David A. Kelly is an established children’s book author, book contributor, travel writer, and technology analyst and writer. For his series for young readers, The Ballpark Mysteries, he usually spends a week onsite, attending between two to four games and taking a tour of the ballpark. David lives 15 minutes from Fenway Park in Newton, Massachusetts with
his wife Alice, two sons, Steven and Scott, and a dog named Samantha.
