Enjoy Boston's Gardens and Spaces Right Inside Wellesley Booksmith with accomplished Author Meg Muckenhoupt
Hosted by Wellesley Garden Study Group

Presentation, Discussion, Book-signing
Co-sponsored by the Wellesley Garden Study Group

Join the Wellesley Garden Study Group when they co-host a presentation with Wellesley Booksmith.  Come hear Meg Muckenhoupt speak about Boston's Gardens and Green Spaces, a beautifully designed introduction to the origins and reinvention of public space in the Greater Boston area. From the rich legacy and history of Boston's Emerald Necklace and grand estates to the city's contemporary green revival, you're sure to be delighted by seeing how Bostonians are creating, using, and cultivating their open spaces today.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Meg is a freelance environmental and travel writer.  She is the author of Sigmund Freud: Explorer of the Unconscious and her articles have appeared in the Boston Globe, the Boston Phoenix, Boston Magazine, the Time Out Boston guide, and many other publications.  She holds a certificate in Field Botany from the New England Wild Flower Society.

ABOUT THE WELLESLEY GARDEN STUDY GROUP:
The Wellesley Garden Study Group begun in 1953 is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts. With over 75 members it is the second oldest of the 5 Garden Clubs in Wellesley. In addition to the education of its members in Horticulture, Design and Conservation, it does active outreach to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, New England Wildflower Society and the Arnold Arboretum. In town, using money raised through its annual auction fundraiser, the club provides garden therapy for the elderly and encourages children to assist with the front entrance plantings at the Wellesley Middle School and the courtyard at the High School. The main street of Wellesley is enhanced by members tending The Friendly Aid Garden and donating daffodil bulbs to Simon’s park at the corner of Brook Street.
