Wellesley Booksmith and the Morse Institute Library invite you to an exciting evening with Gary Paulsen, the beloved author of more than 175 books for adults and young adults, including modern classics and Newbery Honor books Hatchet, Dogsong, and The Winter Room. Hailed by the New York Times as “one of the best-loved writers alive,” he is one of the most adventurous too, having traveled with a carnival; worked as a construction worker, a ranch hand, and a sailor; and twice run the Iditarod.
At this event, Gary will talk about his new novels Woods Runner, a stirring tale of one boy’s attempt to rescue his parents during the Revolutionary War, and Lawn Boy Returns, a companion novel to fan favorite Lawn Boy. Gary divides his time between homes in Alaska and New Mexico and a boat in the Pacific.
IMPORTANT BOOK SIGNING INFORMATION:
Gary will happily sign any books purchased at this event, in addition to one (but only one) book per family from your home, library, or classroom. In order to keep the signing line moving and allow time for everyone to meet him, the only books in which Gary will write personalized inscriptions (e.g. To Jack, Happy Birthday, Nora, etc.) are copies of Woods Runner and Lawn Boy Returns purchased at this event. No posed pictures with Gary are permitted, but
you are welcome to take as many candid photographs of him as you’d like during both his presentation and signing.
Please direct all questions about this event to Wellesley Booksmith (781) 431-1160 or the Morse Institute Library (508) 647-6520.
